Abstract
Traditional means of urban community management are not satisfying the new demands placed by a modern city. Gridding Urban Management (GUM) seems to be a promising model for urban management in the 21st century. But the GUM is immature due to the lack of innovative strategies for effective management. This paper constructs an agent-based simulation system, to explore innovative GUM strategies. The preliminary results of Shanghai UGM practice show that the proposed DeciUrban can address the challenges in the further development of GUM.
