Abstract

The Taiwanese healthcare system, strained with increasing nursing workloads and burnout amplified by the pandemic, turns to Generative AI (GAI) for potential solutions. GAI, particularly through advanced language models, marks a shift from data analysis to content creation, thereby transforming patient care and improving efficiency. Central to this innovation is “A + Nurse,” a digital assistant streamlining nursing tasks and securing data. GAI's integration with hospital information systems can play a crucial role in reducing nursing workloads and burnout. While integrating GAI involves challenges like continuous adaptation and ethical considerations, its potential in elevating patient care and healthcare delivery is immense. Taiwan's adoption of GAI in nursing may signify a pivotal step towards a more effective, patient-centric healthcare model. (118 words).
