Abstract

Toys play a crucial role in a child's cognitive development. Existing literature suggests that parents' toy purchasing decisions are significantly influenced by their demographic profiles. The safety aspect of toys has been consistently highlighted in research. However, the exploration of parents' deliberate consideration of green and sustainable toys remains limited, particularly within the context of Malaysia. While there exists an array of online resources expressing Malaysian parents' opinions about eco-friendly toys, there is a notable scarcity of scientific studies addressing this matter. This study endeavors to address this gap by examining the landscape. The current research delves into both the present and future perspectives of Malaysian parents adopting green and sustainable criteria when selecting toys for their children. The study's findings underscore the diversity of viewpoints across parents' demographic backgrounds, highlighting that the extent of consideration varies accordingly.
