Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the counseling methods for victims of school violence by examining the relationship experiences of college students who experienced school violence and what they have experienced in the process of violence and recovering from it. For this purpose, the researcher used a qualitative case study method for one participant who experienced violence at schools. The first author collected data through in-depth interviews held five times from January 2018 to the end of February 2018, and additional interviews were conducted at the beginning of September 2018. The interview were focused on the relationship experiences she had with parents since her childhood. Based on open coding method, the results were divided into the process of being involved in school violence and the process of recovering from school violence. The findings of the study showed that the participant who experienced the violence became a victim by repeating the patterns of relationship with her parents at schools. Also the victim had the fear of having relationships since she experienced school violence. She was able to overcome the fear in interpersoanl relationships as she adopted herself to school and expanded the relationship earning sympathy, with the help of teachers and friends. These findings are expected to help the other victims adapt to and be able to recover. when they are applied to counseling of school violence victims.
