Abstract

3-D human body scanning is certainly an interesting research topic. A lot of useful information about the dimensions of the human body can be extracted. However, still a lot of problems arise when it is used. The specification and standardization of the processes/tasks in the 3-D body scanning is not enough such as data acquisition, data translation, data storage, data analysis and extraction and so on. That is, there has not been a standardized method of measurement and procedures for utilization of 3-D scan data or body size. Therefore this study are to provide exploratory data for standardization of 3-D body measurement by discovering and analyzing by stages the cause of an error which is expected to occur while extracting a human body size from 3-D human body scanned data and to check if we can get the same body image from the 3-D scanning method as the one by the skilled anthropometrist's traditional method accurately.
