Abstract

Abstract : This exploratory research used data from the MSE Follow-On Operational Test and Evaluation to (a) describe the personnel characteristics of MSE operators, (b) describe operator performance on critical MSE tasks, and (c) identify personnel variables which could be used to account for variability in operator performance or predict operator performance. Ten personnel variables and 21 critical tasks were considered. Additional data included test performance data, operator errors and subjective workload ratings. Findings can be applied to the design of future tests and to design of prototype algorithms for personnel selection and prediction of operator performance.
