Exploration of Experiential Learning and Vygotsky Scaffolding Theories in Teaching Medical Nutrition Therapy

Abstract

This study aims to explore students' level of satisfaction and perception in medical nutrition therapy based on experiential learning, Vygotsky scaffolding, and constructivism learning theories. A total of 50 students were recruited via purposive sampling. The instrument for this study is a set of questionnaires that measure student satisfaction towards the hospital visit program, case study, and group work. All findings were analysed descriptively using SPSS version 29.0 software. This research indicates that students are highly satisfied with the hospital visit, case study, and group work. Students highly recommend that the programs continue to be implemented in the future. The findings of this research provide new information and facts about the utilisation of learning theories in medical nutrition therapy.
