Abstract

The concept of family is important for Chinese society. Organizational and managerial practices in relation to family care has become more important for Chinese organizations in China due to Confucian beliefs embedded in Chinese society. Based on the study of Chinese Perceived Organizational support (CPOS), Perceived Organizational Family Support (POFS) and Family Supportive Organization Perceptions (FSOP), this paper qualitatively explores 132 Chinese employees' perceptions of POFS in China. This findings demonstrate unique characteristics of CPOS featured by managers' personal care for family members and organisational activities that involve family members. We concluded with theoretical and practical implications of this study.
