Abstract

Based on the extended zero curvature equation, we proposed a (3+1)-dimensional nonlinear Schrödinger equation with time variable coefficients. This model has important application in the dispersion and nonlinearity managed fiber laser. In this paper, taking advantage of four different assumptions, soliton solutions and triangle function solutions of (3+1)-dimensional nonlinear Schrödinger equation with time variable coefficients are derived. Both amplitude and wave speed are found to be related to time-dependent coefficients.
