Abstract

This paper deals with the extraction of the physical parameters of solar cells (a single diode model) from the equivalent circuit of the cell. The extraction is carried out by three different numerical methods with a comparison between them. The first and second methods are a difference of the Newton Raphson algorithm (NRM) and Aitken’s extrapolation algorithm (AEM), respectively. The roots of the nonlinear equation of this cell have been described and solved using the three methods. The proposed method is tested to solve the output voltage; current and power of this cell from the roots of this equation with the various values of load resistance RL.
