Abstract
The Delhi chapter discusses the three most determinant factors that led to the landslide victory for the BJP. These factors resonated equally in other states as well. The factors were namely: the Modi leadership; the resurgent nationalism that swept the entire country after the terrorist attack in Pulwama and Balakot; and lastly the failure of the AAP, the incumbent party, to showcase its government’s welfare schemes and benefits accruing to people. In addition, the AAP attempt to rake up the grant of statehood to Delhi as its central campaign plant remained a non-starter.
