Abstract

Chiastic structure which is also called chiastic pattern is widely used as a literary technique in narratives and stories. It is usually a motif creating recurring element because it is symbolically significant in the story. Chiastic structures in various forms can also been observed in Quran, Hebrew Bible and New Testament. This paper explores the Chiastic patterns present in Chapter 43 of Quran and their relevance to the main themes presented in the chapter. The paper concludes that the themes presented in the chapter are similar to the pillars of Muslim faith and therefore their recurrence happens through these patterns. The paper also recommends that other chapters of Quran may be studied to find out the important themes which are explained through chiastic patterns.
