Abstract

Despite research showing the multitude of benefits of having a well thought out strategic plan, many nonprofit executive directors struggle with getting their boards engaged in the process. Board members are often more inclined to focus on immediate issues and challenges facing the organization instead of developing comprehensive, long‐range plans that might end up sitting on a shelf gathering dust.
