Abstract

Abstract The paper considers the problem of sustainable provision for traffic maximization and ways to solve it at the stage of large-scale projects preliminary examination for the development of transport infrastructure of international railway corridors. A set of measures to solving the problem is considered. The main attention is focused on ensuring the rhythm and stability of traffic by increasing the capacity of single-track sections of the railway through the optimal placement of sidings on routes with heavy traffic. Description and solution of the problem of conducting a preliminary examination of a large-scale project for the development of transport infrastructure of the international railway corridor is carried out on the example of the project for the reconstruction of the eastern section of the Baikal-Amur mainline of the Russian railway.
