Abstract

The author first recalls the basics and the rules of forensic medical assessment, and the particularities of forensic psychiatric assessment. He then focuses on the specific example of the forensic evaluation of the traumatic symptoms of the victims of terrorist attacks. Taking example on the Bataclan assault in Paris in 2015, he illustrates the complexity of these assessments, insisting on the precautions which must be taken by the expert and the different members of the victim's environment.
