Abstract

Experiments to propagate siganids in Elat in 1977 included hormonal (HCG) injections and larval rearing of three common species: Siganus rivulatus, Siganus luridus and Siganus argenteus. Results show that HCG injections help to bring about spawning in all three species. Experiments to rear the larvae resulted in survival of a small number of S. rivulatus in one of the tanks.
