Abstract
SUMMARYMCPA and 2,4-D sprays at up to 1/20 the dosage normally vised for weed control in cereals severely distorted sugar beet, which subsequently grew at near normal rate but remained distorted. The severity of symptoms and yield depression depended on the stage of growth of the beet when sprayed. Sugar-yield loss was greatest when plants were sprayed at the 6–8 leaf stage.
