Abstract

The photofragmentation dynamics of CS2, Fe(CO)5 and Co(CO)3NO at 193nm have been studied under molecular beam conditions. The S and CO products of these photofragmentations have been probed by laser‐induced fluorescence spectroscopy, using tunable VUV generated by four wave sum mixing in Mg vapour. As well as determining product quantum state distributions, doppler spectroscopy has been used to probe product translational energy and the anisotropy of the product recoil.
