Abstract

The present paper describes an experiment of liquid CO2 dynamics affected by hydrate-clathrate film observed in the strategy of CO2 disposal in deep sea ocean. The characteristic behavior induced by the CO2 hydrate is reported, which are CO2 injection from a nozzle, formation of CO2 pool and growth and propagation of hydrate-clathrate film induced by the nucleation. A laser diagnostic technique is demonstrated in the measurement of non-uniform two dimensional pH distribution, which is considered to be an effective tool to elucidate the mechanism of the dynamics of liquid CO2.
