Abstract

Composite materials gained interest of research because of various benefits. The wear behavior of glass fiber based composite with varying graphite filler, load and speed was determined. The various parameters such as composition of filler, speed, load at three levels while with the time constant has been considered. The glass fiber reinforced with graphite filler were fabricated by varying the amount of graphite filler (0, 3, 5%) with hand layup technique, conducted on pin on disc machine. Graphite filler were considered in order to increase the wear resistance of the material. In order to determine the optimum condition a full factorial design was made. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) test is used to find the optimum process parameters for the composite for wear resistance.
