Abstract

This paper deals with the experimental verification of a stand-alone wind power generation system (WPGS) with a dual active bridge (DAB) converter based battery charger. We have proposed a stand-alone WPGS with a DAB converter based battery charger to reduce the power loss between a generator and AC-load and confirmed the validity of the proposed system by computer simulation. In this paper, we construct and test the proposed DAB converter based battery charger for experimental verification. SiC-MOSFETs are used in the primary-side of the DAB converters and VSI for reducing the switching loss. Experimental results demonstrate that the output voltage of the voltage-source inverter can be kept constant when the DC-link voltage is changed. Moreover, the DC-link voltage is kept constant by the DAB converter in battery-discharging mode.
