Abstract

A recently published novel equivalent circuit model for the analysis of electromagnetic interference in cavities with arbitrary shapes is validated by measurements. This broadband Foster-type circuit model is based on the eigenmodes of the cavity, is inherently stable in the time domain and allows the inclusion of arbitrary nonlinear loads with a commercial circuit simulator. Validation is accomplished by measurements of a simplified computer case with complex internal setup, including a magnetic thin sheet absorber. The equivalent circuit is extended, in order to incorporate the losses of the magnetic absorber and is subsequently validated in the frequency and time domain.
