Abstract

In the geometric-optics limit, Yang-Mills gravity with space-time translational gauge symmetry predicts $\Delta \phi = 7Gm/(2R) \approx 1.53^{\prime\prime}$ for the deflection of a light ray by the sun. The result, which is about 12% smaller than that in the conventional theory, is consistent with experiments involving optical frequencies that had an accuracy of 10-20%.
