Abstract
The coalescence separation has been widely used in the industry for its high separation efficiency and the reduced separation pressure. In this paper, the micro experimental system and high-speed camera observation system were designed and the characteristics of fog droplet adhesion, coalescence and transmission were explored. The experimental results showed that after the fiber wetting, the growing droplets mainly contained two structural forms: shell-shaped droplets and rugby-shaped droplets. For single fiber coalescence, the limit value of the contact angle of rugby-shaped droplets were about 65° when dfiber was 25.38 µm. For fiber intersection coalescence, the droplet will maintain a nearly constant contact length d, about 6 mm to 8 mm. This paper provide background physics and insights of droplets coalescence mechanism for the further optimization and application of the gas-liquid fiber coalescent.
