Abstract

A droplet evaporation experiment system in closed environment is built. The experiments of evaporation characteristics of UDMH droplet in 350~430K, 1~5atm are carried out, and the effects of ambient temperature, pressure and initial diameter on evaporation process are analyzed in detail. In addition, proving the results of experiments based on the theoretical model. The results show that droplet evaporation process within experimental environment experimented very brief unsteady evaporation stage and longer quasi steady state evaporation stage. The evaporation process is generally consistent with the D 2 -t Law, the evaporation constant keep in constant in quasi steady state evaporation stage. Increasing the ambient temperature would promote the evaporation constant, while increasing the pressure would decrease the evaporation constant, and the initial diameter of droplet would influence the evaporation rate directly. Hence, ensuring good atomization effect is of great significance to improve evaporation process and enhance combustion efficient of engine.
