Abstract

To discuss the natural ventilation design parameters of fire lane for underground car parking, a full scale experiment is adopted in this study to analyse the heat release rate and minimum clear height of underground fire lane. As a supplement, FDS numerical simulations are carried out to further study the smoke exhaust effect of natural ventilation under different external wind speed. Analytical results of full scale experiment and FDS numerical simulations show that the natural ventilation of underground circular fire lane of this case can effectively discharge the flue gas due to combustion. Through the results of this study, the natural ventilation design parameters of fire lane for underground car parking are determined primarily, which will provide reference for the fire protection design and approval of the underground car parking in the future.
