Abstract

With the consumption of high-grade copper ore in D.R. Congo Lubumbashi-Likasi region in recent years, local copper hydrometallurgy enterprises are forced to use lower-grade oxidized copper ore as raw material to organize production. It is one of the solutions to treat the low-grade copper oxide ore with flotation to get the higher-grade copper concentrate. The phase detection and analysis of one low-grade copper ore in this paper show that the copper grade of the sample is only 0.66%. Black copper, red copper and ferromanganese heterophase (containing copper) are the main copper ores. The flotation experiment results of typical low-grade copper mines in this area were introduced, and the experimental results showed that the copper grade of copper oxide in copper concentrate reached to 5.12%, the recovery of copper was 82.59%, and the recovery of copper in copper oxide was 73.28%.
