Abstract

This paper takes the red mud, an auxiliary product of aluminum smelting industry in an aluminum factory in Shanxi Jinzhong as the research object, and tests the basic physical and mechanical parameters and Duncan-Zhang model parameters of red mud. According to the geotechnical test procedure, the parameters such as particle size gradation and liquid plastic limit of red mud were obtained. The stress-strain relationship curve of the red mud material was obtained by the triaxial consolidation compression test. The Duncan-Zhang model parameters of the red mud material were obtained according to the experimental data, which provided a reference for the stability analysis and calculation of the red mud yard in the future.
