Abstract
Interface friction characteristics between geosynthetics and fill materials is an important factor to determined slope stability and tension characteristics in components of liner system in landfill, so it is essential to study the interface friction characteristics. The investigation about the interface friction characteristics of 3 kinds of geosynthetics with sand and clay were presented by pull out tests. Experimental results show: (1) Shear stress pear strength and its shear displacement are increase by the normal stress is increase. (2) Friction coefficient between geosynthetics and clay is bigger than geosynthetics and sand; (3) Friction coefficient between 3 kinds of geosynthetics and sand are arranged from high to low: geotextile, EPDM geomembrane, HDPE geomembrane; (4) The geotextiles are installed on the above and down of the HDPE geomembrane, the friction coefficient of the interface is smaller than the geotextile is installed on the above of HDPE geomembrane and the geotextile is installed on the down the HDPE geomembrane.
