Abstract
Based on the characteristics of high vertical bearing capacity but low horizontal bearing capacity of the cement soil, a field test on cement-soil piles and reinforced cement-soil piles which are arranged cylindrical glass fiber geogrid under lateral load is carried out. The working mechanism and horizontal bearing capacity of cement-soil pile reinforced with fiberglass geogrid of single pile and double-row piles under horizontal load is analysised. The results show that pile under horizontal loads have different failure modes by different geogrid distribution of reinforcements. Horizontal bearing capacity increased more or less by fiberglass geogrid for single pile and double-row piles. Horizontal bearing capacity of double-row piles whose front pile arranged two layers fiberglass geogrid are significantly improved. Under the premise of the pile is not destroyed, a higher value of the horizontal displacement and inclination of the pile is, the greater tension of geogrid can afford, the higher value of horizontal bearing capacity are. It is concluded that the horizontal bearing capacity of pile can be improved to ensure the safety of the pile by the appropriate geogrid-reinforcement and increasing the number of rows of the pile.
