Abstract

Foam ceramic burner has significant advantages of high combustion intensity, low pollutant emission and high thermal efficiency. There is relatively little experimental research on SiC foam ceramic burners, especially the gradually-varied SiC foam ceramic. A combustion experiment system is designed to study the combustion characteristics of SiC foam ceramic burners. The influence of aperture structure on combustion chamber temperature distribution and pollutant emission under a stable combustion state is obtained. The results show that the influence of aperture structure on combustion characteristics is not linear when the aperture is 20 PPI. Compared with the uniform structure, the gradually-varied foam ceramics can improve the combustion chamber temperature while maintaining a low pollutant emission, which has a good application prospect.
