Abstract
Since last 20 years there is a great attraction towards bio meditation process in geotechnical engineering. Though this technique proved eco friendly and economical, the efficiency of the treatment totally depends upon optimization of the chemical nutrients and atmospheric conditions. This study was done to provide an overview of the factors which affects the bio mineralization process in soil. Bio medicated soil was tested for various influencing factors like type of soil and pH value, nutrients solution, concentration of bacteria, reaction time of the solution and concentration of injections. In most of the bio cementation studies the bacteria used is Bacillus pasteurii, also the study related to factors affecting the bio mineralization process are mostly done with microbe Bacillus pasteurii. In this study the bacteria used is urea-hydrolyzing bacteria Lysinibacillus sphaericus (previously known as Bacillus Sphaericus), grown at temperature (about 37 °C) in an ammonium yeast culture medium. The basic aim of this study is to get a better understanding of various factors having influence on bio medicated bonding using soil microorganism Bacillus Sphaericus and growth medium containing CaCl2 and urea medium. Theresults showedthat each of the factors, like the amountof injections, microorganismOptical density, concentrations of solutions, varietyof nutrient cycles, and particle sizes havean evidenteffecton the Microbial Induced Carbonic Precipitationprocess. The effects of various parameters were tested in the laboratory and optimized results have been presented.
