Abstract

With the gradual increase of road construction mileage in western China, the technology of cement modified silty sand as roadbed filling has become more and more mature, however, it is still lack in the analysis of its durability under the influence of external water and thermal environment. In this paper, through the design of cement modified silty sand in dry-wet cycle, freeze-thaw cycle, humidification test, according to the unconfined compressive strength of the specimen to evaluate its engineering characteristics in different environments. The test results show that with the increase of the number of dry-wet cycles, the unconfined compressive strength of cement modified silty sand increases at first and then tends to be stable, and with the increase of freeze-thaw cycles, the unconfined compressive strength of cement modified silty sand decreases gradually. the use of cement to improve silty sand can effectively restrain its disintegration and improve its overall water stability.
