Abstract
This paper introduces the research work done on distortion of sound echo from a cylinder due to multi-path effect of underwater channel and sound scattering of the object. A sound scattering experiment carried out in water-filled tank is introduced and data processing results are shown and analyzed, which may be useful to research on signal processing of active sonar detection and classification.
