Abstract

ABSTRACT In this paper, the main properties of plaster board are experimentally described (□type plaster) under high temperature (ISO 834). Material temperature versus time and main space direction (1D description along the thickness) is presented and analysed. The temperature distribution in the cold convection zone is analysed too. The mass loss under temperature increase is then presented and the radiative thermal flux too. Such research work gives some particular data to improve the accuracy of a combined thermal-chemical numerical model used with large latent heat mineral material. Plaster boards are usually used for passive fire protection. The kinetic chemical conversion is also estimated and an evaluation of the thermal exchange coefficients on the cold face is proposed.
