Abstract

We have done a systematic study of the magnetization of granular (Bi,Pb) 2Sr 2Ca 2Cu 3O 10+ x superconductors at 77 K. Main attention was paid to the behavior of intergranular magnetization currents. The experiments covered flux-distribution and magnetic-relaxation measurements using Hall sensor magnetometry. These were supplemented by standard magnetization and hysteresis-loss measurements. The magnetization of the intergranular system was found to have its own dynamics in each case of the measurements. The behavior, however, was to some extent similar to that of classical hard type-II superconductors.
