Abstract
We investigate the influence of the laser intensity on the polarization-driven sources of natural fluctuations in the amplitude and frequency of He–Ne lasers. We find that the sources of amplitude fluctuations in a rod laser and of frequency-difference fluctuations in a ring laser depend on the oscillation intensity in different ways. Our experimental results are in good agreement with the theoretical predictions.
