Abstract

Surface acoustic wave (SAW) quartz cuts with a low sensitivity to temperature and planar isotropic stresses have been found. SAW oscillators based on stress- and temperature-compensated cuts have been experimentally tested and compared to the classical (ST, X) cut. A significant reduction (by one order of magnitude) of the sensitivity to dynamic thermal effects is demonstrated.
