Abstract

At present, the open mill, internal mixer and screw plasticator were used widely in the rubber industry. But they belonged to the intermittent mixing equipments and had shortcomings that could not be avoided. According to these problems, a new experimental platform for rubber mastication was self-made and the optimal process parameters were determined in this paper. Through the massive experiment contrast result, the maximum power dissipation of the block rubber continuous mastication machine was lower than internal mixer when produced the same amount of rubber, specific energy consumption was also lower. And production capacity was 3 times than internal mixer, Mooney stick degrees approached to that of internal mixer. All of these indicated that new rubber mastication experimental platform improved production efficiency and reduced the energy consumption.
