Abstract

We report the experimental work on Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) geophone with cantilever beam structure which was developed recently. Factors of effecting sensitivity are discussed. The testing system of acceleration sensitivity was established. The FBG geophone's sensitivity responses in different frequency were tested to verify the design. Experiments of FBG geophone with different damping are given. The effect of temperature to sensitivity of the FBG geophone is discussed. Vibration tests were carried out to verify the reliability of the developed FBG geophone.
