Abstract

Combining the asphalt treated base (ATB) binder course of asphalt pavement for Ji-jiao highway, experiments and theoretical analysis are carried out. The mixture ratio for asphalt treated base (ATB) binder course is determined according to climate, high temperature stability for ATB binder course is researched through rutting test and uniaxial static load tests. Cryogenic crack resistance for ATB binder courses are analyzed through the bending creep test and the trabecula low-temperature flexural tensile strength test. Water stability for ATB binder courses are researched through the immersion Marshall and freeze thaw split tests. Fatigue resistance for ATB binder courses are analyzed through the bending fatigue test and indirect tensile fatigue test. The results show that cryogenic crack resistance for ATB binder courses can effectively by increasing asphalt content and decreasing porosity. It’s recommended that water stability for ATB binder courses be evaluated by adopting the freeze thaw split test. Optimal asphalt content for ATB binder courses are about 4%. ATB binder courses have good anti high temperature permanent deformation ability. The optimum performing ATB asphalt binder content is about 4% under when considering asphalt binder fatigue performance and water stability.
