Abstract

The phase equilibrium of CO<sub>2</sub> hydrates on various types of porous media is studied by experiment and model. The experiments are conducted under controlled conditions to measure the hydrate equilibrium conditions. The proposed model is based on the Chen-Guo theory and incorporates the surface property parameters for each type of porous media. The predictions of model are validated by comparing them to experimental data, and the predicted temperature deviation is within 0.25 K. Furthermore, the accuracy of model is compared with other existing models, and the calculation accuracy of this model in glass beads with weak water absorption is 0.05 K higher than that of the existing model, and 0.09 K higher in sand with strong water absorption. The study contributes to a better understanding of CO<sub>2</sub> hydrate formation on different porous media and provides a reliable model for predicting phase equilibrium conditions in such systems.
