Abstract

An experimental study of unimorph piezoelectric energy harvester with proof mass has been presented in this paper. The placement of the proof mass shift the operating frequency of an energy harvester to a lower range. The main advantage of placing a proof mass over an energy harvester other than frequency shift is to maximize the output power generation. Also analysis of an energy harvester with different substrate thickness is performed to find its effect on performance of energy harvester. The experimental results reveals that presence of proof mass and thickness of substrate affects the power generation of piezoelectric energy harvester.
