Abstract

The initial uptake and later retention of labelled albumin and fibrinogen was studied in a transplantable rat tumour and compared to various normal tissues of the rat. A high uptake and retention of both proteins was found in tumour as compared to normal tissues. This mechanism is probably based on a high capillary permeability of the tumour capillary wall also for large protein molecules.
