Abstract

In the present study, analyses of corrosion inhibition property of isatine Schiff bases namely “3-((6-ethoxybenzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)imino)indolin-2-one” (I-Sb) for mild steel in 1 M hydrochloric acid was conducted. Weight loss techniques, were used to investigate the protection efficiency of isatine Schiff bases as corrosion inhibitor. The highest anticorrosion activity was reached at the inhibitor concentration of 500 ppm. The inhibition efficiency increase with increase the inhibitor concentration and decrease with increasing temperature. The Langmuir adsorption isotherm model was applied to suggest the adsorption mechanism.
