Abstract
Glass epoxy, pressure component was made by filament winding. Component was integral with dome on one end and opening on other end. On dome end, metallic insert with internal threads was used and it was closed with threaded plug during testing. Leak proof layer was developed in-situ, with polyester nonwoven/epoxy. External threads on open end were machined on extra build-up E-Glass fabric epoxy were threaded with metallic section. Assembly designed for 120 KSC with 1.5 load factor was subjected to internal hydraulic pressure, which withstood 185 KSC. One more component was made by increasing fabric lay-up thickness which withstood 200 KSC.
