Abstract

The tribotechnical characteristics of radiation-modified polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) are studied at specific pressures of 10–20 MPa that correspond to the working conditions in the supports of engine rotors. It is shown that a mean coefficient of sliding friction of the modified PTEE is much lower than that of the normal PTFE, while the intensity of surface wear of the modified PTEE is two orders of magnitude less than that of the normal PTFE.
