Abstract

The effects of particle charge on the filtration efficiency of a fibrous filter were experimentally investigated by comparing the filtration efficiency of neutral fibrous filters for neutral and charged particles. The experimental results show the dependencies of the efficiency on the size and charge of a particle, and a dimensionless electrostatic parameter, which are compared with theoretical models.
