Abstract
An experimental study on the directivity patterns of laser-generated longitudinal and shear ultrasound in semi-transparent neutral glasses is presented. The measured directivity patterns in the thermoelastic regime in the AB-series neutral glasses, which have various optical absorption coefficients, are in good agreement with our theory, which is briefly summarized in the Appendix.
