Abstract

Experimental tests are reported for a subsonic gas target, SGT, appropriate for neutron generator use in fusion materials research. Earlier theoretical predictions for the SGT were confirmed using an electron beam test facility. The ability of beam-deposited heat to alter a subsonic flow density field was found to accord with theory. Evidence is reported for the existence of multiple solutions corresponding to the same system parameters.
